Records your Mac's screen together with the sound captured by your microphone and the system audio, and enables you to rewind the latest 60 seconds of activity. #Record screen #Rewind activity #Capture screen activity #Record #Screen #Rewind
Rewind is a macOS application that runs in the background and continuously records everything that happens on your screen, enabling you to view at any moment the last 60 seconds of your activity.
To use the Rewind capabilities, you must start the recording process when you launch the application, and then employ the “rewind” function whenever you want to save the latest 60 seconds to an MP4 video file.
Note that the application does not save the data if the rewind function is not activated by the user: if you stop the recording without rewinding, the captured video is automatically deleted and the data lost.
For your convenience, Rewind comes with a status bar menulet that provides quick access to both recording and rewinding functions. Moreover, Rewind also provides a system-wide hotkey for rewinding.
Within the Rewind main panel, you get to choose the screen you want the application to monitor, the output resolution, and the video frame rate.
What’s more, you get to include the system audio, the audio captured by the internal microphone, the line-in, or use the Soundflower driver. Via the app’s Preferences, you can also reduce the rewinding period to 30 seconds.
The videos are automatically saved on your drive using the MP4 file format, and you can use the “Show in Finder” option in the contextual menu to find them. You can choose to upload them directly to your Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, or Flickr account, or use other sharing options.
Rewind is a great tool to have around if you want to make sure you get to catch bugs or other out of the ordinary events without having to record long videos.
The utility watches your screen at all times, but keeps only the latest 60 seconds of the recording: if anything out of the ordinary occurs, you get to save the video in no time by using the status bar menu, or a system-wide hotkey.
