Record GIFs of anything on your screen using a simple hotkey, then generate a shareable link in seconds, with intuitive yet customizable app #Record GIF #Capture GIF #Share GIF #GIF #Record #Capture
No matter how you pronounce the format's name, GIFs are incredibly useful and are not likely to be going away anytime soon. It is a lot easier to share one of these animations than a full video, and they are especially useful if you aren't interested in sharing the audio as well.
Gifox is a small app that can help you to both record GIFs and share them. It can be used with a few convenient shortcuts, and it is integrated with several cloud storage and image hosting services that make it much easier to share what you have captured.
To capture something from a specific region of your desktop, just press ⌘⇧5. A selection window will be brought up, allowing you to define the area to be included in the recording. There are various parameters that you can fine-tune before starting the capture, but we will talk about them later on.
Alternatively, you can press ⌘⇧6 and select a specific window. This feature can prove very useful if you want to capture what is going on in a certain application, particularly when creating a tutorial.
Once you've recorded an animation, just click the app's icon in the menu bar. You will see a list of all available files, and you can quickly navigate to their location or copy them to the clipboard. What's more, you can drag them to various other applications directly from this window.
Sharing GIFs could not be easier. After entering your Imgur, Dropbox or Google Drive credentials in the app's preferences, a couple of mouse clicks is all it takes to upload the GIF and generate a link that can be shared with others.
While Gifox is a great choice for novices thanks to its user-friendly design, it also allows you to play around with some more advanced settings. For example, you can change the FPS, downscale the GIF, select a preferred compression mode and set the maximum number of colors.
If you need a quick and convenient way to record and share GIFs, Gifox is a sound option. It is very easy to use, and it offers integration with several image hosting and cloud storage services to make sharing your recordings as simple as possible.
