  • Added preference to specify what Clarify should do when it starts up.

  • Changes:
  • Dropbox support has been removed. As of September 1, 2017 Dropbox no longer renders HTML content from a Dropbox account. Clarify made use of this feature.
  • You can no longer create a free clarify-it.com account in Clarify. The clarify-it.com platform is being retired and we are not allowing new accounts to be created.
  • Cyrillic characters are now converted to an ASCII equivalent when generating filenames.
  • Sequence annotations with different numbers but the same font and font size will now always be drawn with the same radius.
  • Added an additional check to ensure that an anchor name that is entered is unique to the document.
  • When adding a step to a document via drag and drop or pasting the anchor will be set to empty if it conflicts with an existing anchor in the document.

  • Bug Fixes:
  • While resizing an image canvas using the handles the mouse would sometimes get stuck in resizing mode even after the mouse button was released.
  • If all Clarify windows were closed then an empty line would appear in the Window menu.
  • If closing the last document window displayed a modal dialog then the document window menu would remain in the menu bar after closing the dialog and window. Making certain selections from this menu would cause an error.
  • Clarify was not always performing the correct action at launch.
  • It was possible to trigger other actions during a File > Save action via shortcuts. This could lead to odd errors.
  • The footer defined in a sharing account was not being sent to the DOCX template when exporting to Word.

  • Added [[YYYY]] as a date variable to PDF templates.
  • Changes:
  • Added a space between the "#" and the document title in the Markdown exporter.
  • There was no way to change the article title text color other than CSS if you were displaying it in the main document body (using CSS). Now changing the header text color also changes the article title text color as that setting affects the article title color when being displayed in the header.
  • Fixes:
  • Fixed a slow down in typing that would occur as you added more text to a step instructions.
  • Fixed an error that would occur when trying to export to Evernote. It appears that Evernote added some new data when authenticating with a Business account (TTYPE_MAP).
  • When capturing an image to the clipboard, the density information was not being stored. This would cause problems when pasting into an app on high resolution monitors.
  • Clarify no longer crashes when using dictation on OS X.
  • Typing URLs enclosed in " or ' would add a hyperlink. No hyperlink should be added in this case.
  • Scrollbars were not being displayed in the PDF template custom CSS field when a template was first loaded.

  • Pasting text that was center aligned would maintain the alignment and there was no way to change it. Since Clarify does not support text alignment in paragraph text the alignment is now removed when pasting.
  • When trying to open a Clarify 2 document the user is alerted that the file was created with a newer version of Clarify.
  • Fixed an error reporting bug in the Evernote library.
  • Evernote Business notebooks that have been deleted but which are still linked to a user's account no longer cause an error.

  • If you clicked on the capture rect and then tried to use the arrow keys to nudge the capture area, the distance moved would be incorrect.
  • Clicking on a word in the spell check suggested word list would insert gibberish.
  • When changing the spelling of a unicode word the text selection after updating the word would not be correct.

  • If you are one of the 25 million Dropbox users out there (and I am guessing that there is a good chance that you are) you will be excited to know that Clarify can now export to Dropbox. Just configure your Dropbox settings in your Clarify preferences and you can instantly be sharing Clarify documents via Dropbox.
