Open DIB Files

DIB is standing for Device Independent Bitmap and it is an image file format especially created for storing bitmap digital images. As its name suggests, the DIB format is very similar to BMP, and the difference resides in the different header information.

DIB images compressed using the RLE (Run-length encoding) algorithm can store 4 and 8 bits per pixel, whereas uncompressed images come with support for 1, 4, 8, and 24 bits per pixel.

If users want to open their DIB image files, they will need to select and use graphic viewers that feature support for this particular image format.
