PAT (abbreviation for Pattern) is a graphic file format that uses the bitmap standard to encode image data and often used to store patterns that may be later used for creating tiled backgrounds.

PAT image editors will provide their users with the option to crop, rotate or flip their images, but also to overlay watermarks and effects on the source pictures.

There are also some PAT editors that will allow users to export their edited images to other graphic formats.
