J2K is a graphic raster format developed to replace the discrete cosine transform-based JPEG method used for encoding standard JPEG image files with the wavelet compression method

Using either lossy or lossless compression, the J2K image format is based on JPEG 2000, a specialized encoding algorithm and graphic compression standard.

In order to edit their J2K files, users will need to find and use a specialized graphic editor that features built-in support for this specific image format.

Just like JPEG images, J2K images can be rotated, cropped, flipped or resized using editing apps.
