Direct Connect Client Apps and Alternatives

Direct connect (also referred as DC) is a peer-to-peer file-sharing protocol.

Direct connect clients have to connect to a central hub and can easily transfer files from one another by either browsing through that user's shared files or by searching for a specific file.

Usually, hubs also feature a list of connected users who can both transfer files and chat.

Some direct connect hubs have specific restrictions that may limit a user's access to it: the number of upload slots, the amount of data shared, etc.
