The Preview application that comes with the macOS by default enables you to review the content of a PDF document and even includes basic annotation tools so you can insert text boxes or signatures, add notes, draw shapes, highlight content, and so on.

However, when it comes to merging, splitting, or converting PDFs, you are on your own. Sejda PDF Desktop is a software solution that incorporates tools for handling these tasks in no time.

Within the Sejda PDF Desktop main window you get to review all the tasks that can be performed within the app, organized by type: split or merge PDF, convert PDFs to certain Microsoft Office formats, or edit and convert documents.

Worth mentioning is that the tasks menu can be accessed at all times, so you don’t have to waste time going back to the Home panel. Moreover, Sejda PDF Desktop allows you to decide upon the output location, so you can make sure the source documents are not affected.

The built-in PDF editor works only with pre-existent documents and allows you to add text, images, signatures, shapes, and so on. You can also highlight content or insert new pages.

Besides the classic annotation functions, Sejda PDF Desktop can also help you rotate, compress, or crop documents, delete certain pages, convert the PDF to JPEG and vice versa, add numbering to pages or insert a header and footer, encrypt the file content, extract only the text, and so on.

At the same time, you can use Sejda PDF Desktop to convert PDFs to formats compatible with Microsoft Word or Excel. Keep in mind that Sejda PDF Desktop does not provide support for converting the data to all formats supported by Microsoft Office.

Sejda PDF Desktop can merge multiple PDF documents and also delivers control over the output content: you can use the alternate and mix function or choose to visually combine and reorder the pages included in the PDF documents.

On the other hand, you can also use Sejda PDF Desktop to extract individual PDF pages, or to split documents by different criteria: by bookmarks, in half, by size or by text.
