Because these days there is a constant stream of information, it is quite difficult to remember everything you are interested in.
To deal with this problem, you can use a note management information such as IO which provides you with a straightforward way of swiftly jotting down pieces of info for later reference.
The IO app comes with an elegant looking and minimalist user interface designed to enable you to focus on managing your notes and avoid getting distracted. For an extra degree of distraction removal help, you can use the ⌃ + ⌘ + F keyboard shortcut to quickly enter full-screen mode.
IO allows you to create both plain text and Markdown-based notes via a single panel interface, an unusual choice considering that most Markdown editors come with a dual-pane UI, one for writing the content and one for rendering it.
Despite this, the single panel-based GUI works, and it helps you stay focused and boost your productivity with its real-time Markdown rendering support.
With IO saving your notes is not necessarily something you need to do given that it automatically stores them all within its own note management screen which you can access by clicking on the down arrow button at the top of the app's main window.
However, if you do decide to save your notes on to your Mac's hard drive, you can rapidly go to the current note in the Finder by clicking on the link at the top right side of the main screen.
You can also manage your notes using IO's built-in keyboard shortcuts, with ⌘ + O for opening a note and ⌘ + S to save the current one, as well as ⌘ + ↑ or ↓ to switch effortlessly between the stored notes.
Regarding IO's downsides, there's very little to mention with the very hard to notice word/character count int the bottom right corner of the main screen being the only hindrance we encountered while testing the app.
In a nutshell, having IO in your Mac's Applications folder is an advantage if you want to keep records of various pieces of information which you will need later on.
