Manually arranging and resizing app windows can prove to be both tedious and time-consuming work. WindowManager is a small app that can streamline your workflow while delivering full control over the window management presets.

Upon launch, you get to see the WindowManager icon in the status bar but keep in mind that you need to interact with it only to access the Preferences. You can also open the panel using the default global hotkey (Option + Command + S).

Note that WindowManager comes with seven predefined hot zones: just drag a window on top of the respective areas to send them to full screen, upper or lower, left or right quarter, or to the left or right half of the screen.

Note that the WindowManager presets are supposed to become visible when dragging windows to the hot zones, but since the screen portions are not signaled in any way, you might have trouble finding them.

From the WindowManager Preferences, you can also choose to ignore edges and borders, specify which hot zones you want active, and customize the screen grid by adjusting the number of rows and columns.

At the same time, WindowManager enables you to create custom window layouts, and you get to assign them a name and a keyboard shortcut that is active system-wide. As a result, you can manage your windows without having to rely on the drag and drop functions.

WindowManager offers you the possibility to resize and rearrange your windows either by relying on the predefined hot zones or by defining custom window layouts that can be accessed via user setup hotkeys.

The WindowManager functions work on most macOS applications, including some that do not use standard windows. However, keep in mind that WindowManager might not be able to work with certain utilities.
