Using Wallsaver is self explanatory, you must select the desired screensaver, open the application and then click Activate in order to set your current screensaver as wallpaper.

On top of that, Wallsaver also provides you with the means to restore the wallpaper to normal, if there is a huge memory consumption or any other problem.

Application preferences allow you to check for updates at startup, start the screensaver at program launch or even hide before screensaver starts.

Wallsaver even allows you to set the screensaver without having to open System Preferences. You just have to press Choose, select the desired screensaver and close the window.

With the help of Wallsaver you can test the processing power of your Macintosh computer to your friends, while also showing off your cool screensaver.

NOTE: Wallsaver is free for personal use.

System requirements

  • Quartz Extreme capable graphics card with at least 32 MB of memory
  • A screen saver worth applying as the desktop background.

What's new in Wallsaver 2.5.3:

  • This update is ONLY for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Users on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger should NOT upgrade. More information is available here.
  • Added "Install Screen Saver" option under the "Extras" menu
  • Fixed & optimized code for populating list of screen savers. This should make more third-party screen savers appear in the screen saver list.
