Replay Video Capture For Mac

It is often useful to have a way of downloading videos from streaming websites, enabling you to view them on your Mac without having to use a web browser, or when a stable Internet connection is not available. However, some streaming services make this task especially difficult.

Replay Video Capture aims to offer an alternative recording method, allowing you to capture content from any source, as well as record your desktop for presentations or various other projects.

If you want to record a clip from a streaming website, the app can automatically detect the video window and set the correct boundaries. This function works well for the most part, but the application sometimes had problems identifying black bars during our tests.

However, given that it requires the video to already be playing, this feature makes it difficult to record an entire clip.

Of course, you have the option of fine-tuning this selection or setting up the capture area yourself, to ensure unnecessary content is not included.

While Replay Video Capture is particularly useful for recording video content, you can also use it to capture specific areas of your desktop or perform full-screen recordings.

It is also possible to set a delay and have the app stop recording automatically after a predefined period.

Once a recording has been created, you can open the file in your default media player, send it to iTunes, rename it or trim a specific section and encode it using one of the included presets.

Replay Video Capture can record system sound using the built-in Soundflower utility, but the volume of the captured audio is very low. As soon as you begin recording, the sound level drops noticeably, only to return to normal after the operation has been completed.

This issue seems to be limited to OS X El Capitan, as we had no problems recording audio on a system running OS X 10.10.3.

Overall, Replay Video Capture could prove to be useful if you need to record content from streaming websites or capture desktop videos. However, its auto-detection feature is fairly difficult to use, and the app has some compatibility issues with OS X El Capitan.
