QtlMovie brings to the table a user-friendly graphical user interface that can be used to perform video encoding tasks supported by FFmpeg and other tools that are making use of the Qt framework.

Worth mentioning is that QtlMovie does not aim to be a comprehensive GUI for the FFmpeg media processing tool. The utility just tries to streamline certain repetitive tasks.

Watching video files that come in different formats, with the original audio, and subtitles can be impossible on certain devices without prior media processing. QtlMovie reduces the encoding task to merely providing the source video and subtitle file, and selecting the output format.

QtlMovie is able to work with any type of video, audio, and subtitle file, including DVD structures. Moreover, it can output the video to various formats: DVD MPEG or ISO image files, AVI videos, or other formats compatible with iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

Once the configuration is complete, just press the Start button, and QtlMovie will start dealing with the encoding process. In the app’s main window you can both monitor the progress and analyze the log messages.

QtlMovie can run in Single File Mode, which means that it will process only one file at a time, but also enables you to switch to Batch mode. The latter uses the same window design for configuring the encoding, which means that you still need to load each file separately.

On the other hand, you get to set up multiple files to be processed and press the Start button only one. This is great because you don’t need to actively monitor the utility to make sure that you load the next task right away.

Bottom line, QtlMovie proposes an alternative solution for processing video, audio, and subtitle files and making them available on other devices without wasting too much time. Since QtlMovie is based on FFmpeg and many other Qt tools, it can deal with any file format.
