When sharing a video, it’s helpful to give people an idea of what the clip contains, and the easiest way to do that is to grab screenshots from various points in the video and display them as a thumbnail collage.

Movie Collage Creator allows you to do just that, from a simple and highly specialized interface. It can process multiple videos at once and gives you lots of options for customization.

Whether you have one or multiple videos, you can just drop them all in the main window. The same settings will be used for all clips by default, but you can customize each of them if they need to be processed differently.

If you use the app often, you can create your own presets and apply them to one or all videos in the queue. If you don’t want to process a whole clip, you can set the start and end points manually.

Aside from the start and end points, you can set the number of thumbnails to be created and how they should be arranged, customize border width and color, add watermarks and shadows, and so on.

Timestamps can be added to each thumbnail, and the video metadata can be displayed at the top of the image. You can customize which metadata elements should be included here.

Movie Collage Creator was purpose-built for a specific task, and I don’t really have any complaints about its functionality. It works as well as you can expect, supports most video formats, and gives you lots of settings to play around with.
