Desktop Movies For Mac

Desktop Movies is a practical and very easy-to-use macOS application specially made to help you watch videos on your Mac’s desktop without opening another application window.

From Desktop Movies’ status bar menu you can easily play or pause your video, access your playlist, open the Preferences window and quit the application. By accessing Desktop Movies’ main window, you can choose to play your videos “Behind the Desktop”, in “Front of Desktop” or in “Semi-Transparent” mode.

The top toolbar helps you adjust the sound volume, play, pause, fast forward and rewind your video, add or remove files from your playlist and open the Preferences window. Thanks to the Preferences window, you can hide or show the status bar or Dock icon and loop playback your playlist.

Playing your videos behind your desktop allows you to keep on working and watch videos behind all opened windows. However, you can play your movies in front of your desktop, hide everything else in order to enjoy the picture.

As mentioned above, there is a third playback mode that enables you to watch videos through the semi-transparent windows. Hence, you can carry on with your daily tasks, work or browse the web and watch a video at the same time.

Desktop Movies could be more useful if it allowed its users to adjust the sound volume and jump to the previous or next video in the playlist directly from within the status bar menu. Also, we hope to view more than just one app theme and the option to resize the playback window in future updates.
