BWF iXML Reader is a simple application that is able to read and interpret the iXML which can be found in most Broadcast Wave Files.
It's a good help to set up Apple's Final Cut Pro for importing BWF (BWAV) files to avoid 'out of sync' issues.
The app's interface is quite simple. There two windows, one for the analyzed iXML and one to display the XML.
Once a BWF is imported the Speed tag will be used to calculate the exact FPS rate, NTSC and DF settings as well the starting TC. This TC is based upon the 'Samples Since Midnight' and the 'Timestamp Sample Rate'. Be aware that the 'Timestand Rate' does not have to be the same rate as the audio sample rate.
The amount samples in the audio will be used to calculate the duration and end TC. Based on these values it is easier to choose the right setting in Final Cut Pro and make the audio behave as expected.
If you already did import files with wrong settings make sure to close those projects to avoid already cached values which could be used for the new import. Select a new setting, close Final Cut Pro, relaunch and import.
