Animate It! For Mac

Animate It! is a streamlined and cross-platform application that makes it easy for you to create  animations with the help of your Mac, camera, a webcam, or your mobile device.

Getting started with Animate It! requires, as mentioned above, that you either have an in-built camera on your Mac, or an external one connected via USB. Animate It! features a user-friendly interface that is represented by a tool panel in the left side of its main window, a Preview area in the right side, while on the bottom side you can find a Timeline panel.

In general, working with Animate It! will require you to shuffle between the previously mentioned panels, as the Preview area displays your animation in real time, the Timeline area will display every captured images as thumbnails, and the Tool panel enables you to control the capturing preferences and to apply different effects to your animation.

Animate it! features a useful collection of effects and features that make animating interesting, such as “Onion skinning” that enables you to view how far your subject moved, “Chroma  Key” that makes it easy for you to capture animation against green and blue screens, and the “Time Lapse” feature that, as its name suggests, helps you in creating beautiful time-lapse videos.

What’s more, Animate It! enables you to undo, redo, and delete frames in case of mistakes, to add unlimited audio tracks, credits, subtitles to your animations, to record and import sounds, to import and manipulate still images or text objects, and to apply transition effects for a smoother changeover between frames or clips.

To conclude, while not a fully featured animation software, Animate It! proved itself to be a fairly easy to use application of this sorts that can  represent a starting point into the world of creating animations for any user.
