nexTab For Mac

Using keyboard shortcuts to streamline your workflow is a widely spread practice. nexTab is a small Mac utility that pushes things even further: you can use it to browse the tabs of any app with certain trackpad gestures.

nexTab is designed to work right out of the box and comes with few customizations options. Via its status bar menu you can choose to auto-start it at login and then decide which gestures you want active: hold&tap to switch tabs, swipe at top to switch tabs, close tab, refresh tab and open new tab.

The gestures should work with any tab enabled application regardless of their type: text editors, code editors, browsers or messaging apps.

Working with nexTab is fairly intuitive and you should not have problems memorizing the gestures. To switch to either the left or right tab you must press one finger and then tap another on the respective side.

To view the content of the current tab you can swipe two fingers vertically either up or down and nexTab will scroll the page to both directions. To switch more than one tab, you can swipe one finger horizontally at the top side of the trackpad.

nexTab can be used to close the current tab (hold two fingers pressed on the trackpad and then tap a third on the left) or to open a new one (hold two fingers pressed on the trackpad and then tap a third on the right). To launch the refresh process, keep two fingers on the trackpad and tap another between them.

Last but not least, you can use nexTab to go to your login window by swiping a finger across the trackpad in a fast movement going from the right side to the left.
