iOff For Mac

iOff proposes a simple solution for scheduling simple system management procedures such as powering off, restarting, or switching to sleep mode. The app features a single timer, but you do get to extend its capabilities by using Apple Scripts.

The iOff main window features a small timer center stage, and you can easily adjust the number of hours, minutes and seconds until a particular task will be performed: just make sure you have selected the appropriate task tab.

You get to monitor the counter’s progress in real time and stop the timer any time you like. However, iOff also integrates with the OS X Notification Center, so you will receive a visual alert 30 seconds before the timer runs out.

Note that you do not have to keep the iOff window active for the timer to run: you can close the panel, and the utility will work in the background. To open the timer window again, just go through the File menu (the iOff icon will stay in the Dock at all times) or use the Command + T hotkey.

The iOff app capabilities can be extended with ease given the fact that the utility integrates a small script editor. At the moment, only AppleScript is supported, but the developer plans to broaden the list of supported languages

You get to find a couple of iOff example scripts online and send them to your own iOff installation with ease: keep in mind that you must save the scripts locally to be able to use them.

iOff will send the custom scripts to the user’s Library folder, and you must store them in the default location for the app to be able to run them.

iOff offers you the possibility to deal with certain power management tasks or events that can be triggered by using AppleScript commands with the help of a minimalist countdown timer.

As a result, iOff can power off or restart the computer, or put the system into sleep mode without making you change the default configuration.
