YaBattery For Mac

YaBattery is a small tool designed for Apple users that work with devices that rely on a battery, such as MacBook Pro or Air models. The utility resides in the status bar and delivers information about the battery charge together with other details.

Upon launch, YaBattery analyzes your battery’s charge and determines how long you can use the computer without plugging it into a power source. The app will display this value in its status bar icon along with a graphic representation of the battery load.

Unfortunately, during our tests, we have not been able to determine if the YaBattery app updates this value in real time. The initial evaluation remained unchanged even if the battery load dropped in time. However, this might be due to the demo version limitations.

Within the YaBattery status bar menu, you get to view the current battery charge, the power source used by the computer and how much time you have left to run on the battery.

The same area helps you open the Energy Saver panel from the System Preferences, and you get the option to add the utility to the list of apps launched at login.

YaBattery includes info about the original and current battery capacity and allows you to see the values of the design cycle and battery load cycle counters.

More extensive details contain the current battery charge and voltage, its temperature, the manufacturing date, and the health status. You can also see if the battery is currently charging or not.

Bottom line, if you want to get an approximation of your current battery load and how much time you have left without charging, you can always rely on the built-in OS X tools.

On the other hand, if you wish to have seamless access to more extensive details, such as the battery capacity, the cycles count, its manufacturing date or health status, the YaBattery app is an alternative solution.
