X-Wiper offers you the possibility to reduce the size of your Final Cut Pro projects by removing high definition media files or other items that can be generated again if necessary.

The X-Wiper utility works with projects created using the Final Cut Pro 10.1 version, but it can also clean up legacy libraries and include hidden projects and events.

To start using the X-Wiper application, you must drag and drop the library, disk, or folder that contains your Final Cut Pro projects in the designated area within the X-Wiper main window.

Note that you must select beforehand the type of projects you want to work with: Final Cut Pro 10.1 or legacy ones.

In the first case, X-Wiper will detect the Final Cut Pro events included in the libraries, the original and high-quality media, and the render, proxy, optical flow, and shared files.

For Final Cut Pro legacy project, X-Wiper can detect only the render files, but can include hidden projects and events. You can further filter the results by taking into account the file’s size.

Worth mentioning is that X-Wiper can detect files in various locations on your drive, or you can use it to scan SAN locations.

To remove various items from the currently detected Final Cut Pro projects, within the X-Wiper main window, you must select the items you want to remove from the archive, and then simply press the Delete button.

This way, when archiving your FCPX projects, you will not waste space on content that is not necessary to be saved and can be rendered again at a later time.

To sum up, X-Wiper is an excellent tool for scanning content generated for your Final Cut Pro projects that is not necessary to be archived.

The files deleted with the help of X-Wiper can be easily generated again, so you will gain space while not compromising on functionality.
