Wonder Reader For Mac

Even though nothing compares with going through the pages of a comic book and smelling the fresh ink, getting the digital version is more often than not the more sensible approach.

Wonder Reader is an Electron-based application that helps you go through your comic book archives with ease, and experience the graphic designs on your Mac’s screen.

The Wonder Reader app comes with a minimalist design but can switch to full-screen mode to help you take advantage of the entire screen space. The top toolbar includes all the navigational tools, while the rest of the window is reserved for the comics.

Right off the bat, you need to press the folder icon placed in the top right corner of the Wonder Reader main window and start loading comic book files. The app can open both CBR and CBZ archives.

Each new file will be added to the Series panel that you can find on the left side of the window. Note that you can toggle the panel’s visibility with the press of a button.

The same rule applies to the Library panel which can be activated from the top area or the  Wonder Reader window. Here, you can load all the comics included in a particular folder, and see how far you got with the reading for each entry.

Wonder Reader allows you turn the page in the current comic, or quickly jump to the next or previous collection. Each time you make the switch to another comic, the app also lets you know your current page count. At the same time, you get to clear the app’s cache.

Moreover, Wonder Reader offers you the possibility to switch between the single page and two page views and enables you to zoom in or out the image (you can go between 25% and 300%).

To sum up, Wonder Reader can help you go through your comic books collection and enjoy the graphics even though you don’t have a physical copy.
