Wii Backup Fusion is an open source project that aims to provide a complete solution for backing up Wii games. The utility relies on the Qt framework and requires admin permissions in order to get access to the WBFS drives.

The Wii Backup Fusion user interface is organized into multiple tabs so you can quickly switch between your local resources, DVDs, and WBFS drives. If you direct the utility to the various locations where you store your games, Wii Backup Fusion will automatically scan for suitable titles.

To perform maintenance tasks, just rely on the buttons placed in the bottom area of the main window: load, select all/none, transfer to WBFS or to image, extract image, or access the info panel.

The Wii Backup Fusion app will adjust the options based on the resources type, so for the WBFS drives will also add the remove and check options. Note that all your actions will be recorded, and you get to see the log in the appropriate tab.

Within the Wii Backup Fusion info panel you get to see various details about each of your games: ID, name, title, region, size, used blocks, insertion, last modification, last status change, last access, type, WBFS slot, or source.

You get to load a 3D or full HQ cover, open the game in the browser, select the game’s language, or completely reset all the data. Wii Backup Fusion can check, dump, or create a WBFS drive, verify games, compare files or WBFS partitions, or update titles.

Wii Backup Fusion is a user-friendly macOS utility that can help you scan various locations for Wii games, verify their integrity, and backup or extract the images.

However, the Wii Backup Fusion project has not been under constant development for some time now and, even though it runs on macOS El Capitan, it might not be able to work with the most recent Wii games releases.
