QR codes are two dimensional barcodes that convey different types of information through a matrix. Sharing data in this manner is useful because it can be accessed easier on mobile devices that are camera enabled.

QR-Generator is a fairly straightforward application that can be used to quickly generate your own QR codes. The app’s main window is separated in two areas: Generator and Archive.

In the Generator panel you can choose the type of data you want to encode, input the information, customize the matrix appearance and preview the result.

QR-Generator can be use to encode text, vCards, e-mails, URLs, coordinates or SMS messages. If you choose to create a vCard you can specify the contact’s name, address, phone number, email address, work place, job description and much more.

Simply press the “Generate” button from the bottom of the app’s main window and you will be able to preview the result. QR-Generator allows you to change the matrix color, the background color, the barcode size and the quality level.

The next step is to copy the code to your clipboard and import it in another document or you can save it as a PNG document. In the Archive area you can browse all the codes that you have generated so far: this way, you can use them again without having to recreate the matrix.
