Weather Indicator For Mac

Knowing the current weather conditions is very important if you are one who likes the outdoors and there are many ways of keeping a close eye on it.

Software applications are among the simplest and less costly solutions, with Weather Indicator being a worthy candidate because of its simplicity and ease of use.

Moreover, the Weather Indicator app will automatically add an item to your Mac's menu bar, making it very easy to monitor the current weather conditions by keeping an eye on its status bar icon.

Upon launch, Weather Indicator asks you if you need it to start on login automatically, and will try to set the location automatically based on you Mac's location.

Unfortunately, Weather Indicator failed to detect the location automatically, but, fortunately, the Mac's whereabouts can also be configured manually via the Preferences dialog.

Weather Indicator also provides you with a status bar menu designed to give you detailed information regarding today's weather, i.e. the current temperature, wind speed, and humidity.

Here you can also view a 10-day weather forecast which will enable you to plan ahead for the entire week, as well as today's sunrise and sunset times.

Besides allowing you to set Weather Indicator to start on login and configuring your location, the Preferences window can also be used to switch between metric and imperial measurement units, and to set the app to display weather information using colors.

As a downside, Weather Indicator allows you to refresh the weather information by hand, but does not seem to support automatic weather info update and it does not enable you to set custom refresh intervals.

All things considered, Weather Indicator is a user-friendly and easy to use weather forecast utility for Macs, even though it does need a couple of extra features to provide you with all the features you would need from a weather monitoring app.
