Seamlessly transfer files from Mac to Android, and Android to Mac, with a very intuitive app that works with devices on the same network #Android to Mac #Mac to Android #File Transfer #Android #Transfer #Send
Android and Mac don’t really play well together, and it can be annoying if you have a Mac and aren’t a fan of iPhones. Transferring files is one of the most difficult things to get done, especially if you’d rather not use a cloud storage service in the process.
Ubidrop is an Electron-based app designed to provide an experience more similar to what iPhone users get. With an app installed both on your Mac and Android phone, you can send files one way or the other on the same network in just a couple of simple steps.
To send files from Android to Mac, you just need to use the Share function on your phone and then select your Mac from the list of available devices. Files will be sent to the desktop by default, but you can customize the location. Of course, make sure the app is installed on your mobile device.
As for Mac to Android, you’ll need to launch the Ubidrop app on your phone, access the Mac app from your menu bar, select Send to Nearby, and then find your smartphone from the list of nearby devices. For transfers to work, both devices need to be connected to the same network.
