Alternative status bar clock for macOS that allows you to customize the time and date display and includes an easy to navigate calendar panel #Status bar clock #Status bar calendar #Menubar clock #Status bar #Menubar #Clock
Timestamp is a minimalist clock and calendar application that resides in your status bar and aims to replace the built-in OS X clock. The utility allows you to change the date and time format and comes with support for the dark mode.
Upon launch, the Timestamp app automatically adds a clock display in your menubar and allows you to access the associated calendar panel with a simple mouse click. Note that if you want to access the app’s Preferences, you must right-click on the time representation.
Worth mentioning is that Timestamp has been developed using the Electron framework and the Moment.js library and that the utility relies on the second to deal with the clock format.
To adjust the clock display, within the Timestamp Preferences window, you must manually configure the representation. If you press the help button, you will be directed in your default web browser to the appropriate section in the Moment.js documentation.
Timestamp can include the current time and date, but can also include details about the year quarter, the day of the week, the week of the year, the week year, the timezone, and so on. Just include the appropriate tag and you will observe the modifications almost instantly.
By default, Timestamp will place its clock representation after all other status bar items, but note that you can easily move its location: just hold down the Command key and you will be able to drag the clock around.
Note that Timestamp also integrates a calendar representation, so you won’t have to rely on other utilities. Keep in mind that Timestamp does not integrate with the OS X Calendar application, so you will not be able to see scheduled events.
Bottom line, Timestamp aims to replace the OS X clock and provides a more extensive control over the time and date display. What’s more, it incorporates a minimalist calendar representation so you can plan events without having to employ yet another app.
