Keep track of how much time you have spent on various projects or manage billable hours for clients, with this simple and easy-to-use app #Track time #Task timer #Time tracker #Timer #Task #Track
Moonlight (formerly TimeTrakker) is a lightweight app that can help you manage your projects by tracking the amount of time spent performing certain tasks. Moreover, it can be useful for professionals that charge their customers hourly rates.
You can also take advantage of the Moonlight iOS app if you want to sync your timers across multiple devices and stay on top of your projects at all times.
Moonlight’s interface is almost identical to that of the iOS app and features a minimalist design. Sadly, no additional visual themes are available.
While the menus are fairly easy to navigate, we would have liked to see a new layout that took advantage of the extra screen space available on Macs to give you a better overall idea of each project’s status.
Each created project can be assigned multiple tasks and each task in turn can contain any number of time entries. These can be added manually, edited or removed entirely.
However, it is not possible to pause a timer and resume it later, as a new entry is automatically created when tracking is continued. Also, the Moonlight app cannot notify you when a timer has reached a preset value.
Professionals working in certain fields would benefit from a function that automatically calculated client fees based on hourly rates.
Currently, you can only save or share your account data from the iOS app, as the OS X version lacks any export capabilities.
Moonlight can be accessed from your Mac’s menu bar if you want to bring up the main app window or view the current state of your active timers. However, you cannot remove the app’s Dock icon, even though it serves no additional purpose.
Moonlight is a reliable time tracking tool and is especially helpful if you already use the iOS app on your iPhone or IPad. However, it lacks a number of useful features and does not offer adequate OS X integration.
