Adding tags to your files, regardless of their format, can prove to be extremely useful whenever you want to find specific items with minimal effort. Tagit is a small Mac app that enables you to add tags and ratings to your files, and then provides a minimalist search tool to find them later on.

The Tagit workflow is focused on two different actions: adding metadata to files, and quickly finding them by searching for any of the assigned terms. To achieve the first part, you must drag and drop the files you want to process on top of the Tagit Dock icon.

The app will instantly open a new window where you can see how many items will be processed, add a rating value, and attach as many different tags as you like. For your convenience, Tagit remembers the recently added tags, and allows you to save time by adding them with a simple mouse click.

To start the search process, all you have to do is press the Tagit Dock icon and the app will launch a new window that includes a search bar, and some of the recently used tags (you can easily add them to the search query). You can further filter the search results by setting up a minimal file rating.

Tagit enables you to add both tags and rating metadata to multiple files at the same time, with minimal effort. To make sure you will be able to find the documents as soon as possible, you can add as many tags as you want, as long as the terms are separated by a comma.
