TRIM Enabler is a small and straightforward application designed to compensate this SSD design disadvantage by activating TRIM support on SSD drives from any maker.

TRIM Enabler has a streamlined and minimalist user interface composed of only one window. In order to  get TRIM Enabler to do its magic, you must first enter the system credentials to provide it with full access.

By clicking the “Patch” button on the left side TRIM Enabler’s window, the app activates TRIM support for your Mac’s SSD data storage device by patching the IOAHCIBlockStorage kernel extension.

This means that, once activated, the TRIM feature marks the “not used” space as “clean”, so that your Mac’s SSD can instantly write data without being slowed down by the deletion process.

To conclude, TRIM Enabler makes it simple to activate the TRIM feature on your Mac’s SSD without having to use advanced Terminal.app commands, thus making the file transfer faster, while improving the overall system performance.
