System Lens For Mac

System Lens offers you the possibility to keep a close eye on your Mac’s resources usage from the commodity of your status bar. The app will display the resources usage status in the status bar icon, but also provides a detailed list that includes the biggest consumers, and enables you to quickly shut them down.

A high resources usage can drain your Mac’s battery faster, while also raising the computer’s temperature, and reducing its performance. System Lens enables you to make sure that you are not overwhelming your Mac.

System Lens analyses the resources usage for each application and automatically applies a user friendly label: none, low, medium, and high. The app uses a different icon for each one, but you can also choose to switch to the numbered menu.

Within the System Lens menulet, if you consider that you do not need anymore a certain app that is using your resources, you get to quickly shut it down. Of course, make sure to save your projects beforehand.

Via the System Lens Preferences window you get to effortlessly create your own filters: you can choose to ignore certain apps, or you can decide not to see the apps that have a certain usage label (low, medium, or high).

The same area enables you to define your own thresholds limits by easily adjusting a slider bar for each type of label. You can reduce the System Lens resources usage by disabling the intermittent checking function.
