Subtitle Lab For Mac

Subtitles are textual versions of the dialog or commentary in movies, TV shows and programs and are very useful especially if you like watching foreign films or shows. However, it might be difficult to follow a movie if the subtitle lags behind or skips ahead of the actual speech.

Subtitle Lab promises to help you solve the problems with out of sync subtitles by allowing you to edit, preview and adjust them with just a few mouse clicks. The lightweight application is available on the Mac App Store from where you can quickly and easily purchase, download and install it on your Mac’s hard disk. Thanks to the small size of Subtitle Lab you can complete the installation process in just a couple of minutes.

From Subtitle Lab’s main window you can effortlessly load and preview SRT files by simply dragging and dropping them onto the app’s main window. Once loaded, you can preview and edit all the lines along with their start and end point. In the left panel you can view and edit the start and end point for the selected line along with the text of the subtitle.

The Convert FPS slide sheet helps you view the original value and change the Frames Per Second rate to the desired value. You can also adjust the timing via the Adjust Timing slide sheet. The interval is calculated in milliseconds and can be adjusted by simply moving the slider.

After performing all the desired changes you can save your subtitle and enjoy your video. Unfortunately, Subtitle Lab does not offer you the possibility to check if your re-sychronized subtitle matches the video. This implies additional steps for testing and fine-tuning the SRT file.

Also it would have been helpful if Subtitle Lab allowed its users to add new annotations and offered the possibility to create new SRT files.
