macOS integrates screenshot capturing capabilities, but you need to use third party applications to edit and share the images. Snappy (formerly SnappyApp) is a small Mac app designed to provide a streamlined workflow for capturing, processing, and sharing images.

Snappy places a small menulet in your status bar which enables you to activate the screenshot capturing functions, or to access the snaps library. Note that most of the Snappy features can also be accessed via keyboard shortcuts.

The application can be used to capture a certain area or window, but can also grab a user specified webpage. However, keep in mind that Snappy will not grab the entire page, but only the area that is visible on the desktop.

All your screenshots will be automatically sent to the Snappy library, where you can browse them by date, by source app or devices, or by sharing methods.

Snappy facilitates the preview of each capture, and offers you the possibility to annotate the content using a pencil tool, or by integrating text strings. Once you are satisfied with the result, you can share the image with others by uploading the file to the Snappy servers, and sharing the associated URL.

You can also share the capture by using various system tools, such as the Mail or Messages application. Other supported apps or services are: Facebook, Twitter, Imgur, Pin It, Dropbox, and Evernote.

Snappy proves to be extremely useful if you need to convey what is happening on your screen without having to use multiple applications or services.

Even though Snappy does not make its presence known unnecessarily, the application remains easily accessible, and is featuring a very efficient workflow.
