Smart Reminder For Mac

Smart Reminder is a simple application that can notify you of important events by displaying personalized alerts on your Mac’s desktop. It is bundled with several themes, but you can also add your own images and music, to create unique reminders for each activity.

When adding a new event, you can write a short description, specify if the activity needs to be repeated at certain intervals, as well as choose a theme and visual effect. Unfortunately, though, these reminders cannot be synchronized with the OS X Calendar app.

You can also create themes of your own by importing image and audio files, but these cannot be saved and used again at a later date.

Smart Reminder can open a user-defined URL when the notification is displayed, but we could not enable this function during our tests.

The app’s interface is minimalistic, displaying your upcoming and past events in two simple lists, along with their status. Unfortunately, though, Smart Reminder cannot be sent to your Mac’s menu bar.

When an alert is triggered, Smart Reminder opens it in a new window on your Mac’s desktop, displaying the event’s name, description and picture, as well as playing the selected music file.

It is worth noting that the audio will continue to be played in the background if you do not use the ‘Close’ button to shut down the notification. Smart Reminder can, however, perform this action automatically after a predefined period.

Overall, Smart Reminder is a simple application that offers a fairly limited set of functions. It is relatively easy-to-use, but does not support Calendar integration and lacks several other features that would have improved its accessibility.
