There are so many TV shows to choose from nowadays that it is not uncommon to follow a dozen or more at the same time, while trying to keep track of which episodes you have already watched.

SeriesMarker can make this task a lot easier, as it enables you to create a personal database that displays all your TV shows and lets you mark the ones you have viewed.

When you first launch SeriesMarker, the database is empty, so the first step is to find and add all the series you are currently watching. The app uses a search engine that extracts info from TheTVDB.com. Once you have found the TV show you were looking for, you can add it to your list.

The newly imported series’ progress will be listed as 0%, indicating that you have yet to watch a single episode. You can either mark entire seasons, the whole TV show or individual episodes as ‘watched’ until the information displayed by the app is accurate.

Building your collection will probably take a fair amount of time, but you can make use of keyboard shortcuts to try and speed things up.

Of course, your database will eventually become outdated as new episodes are released. However, you can update it at any time, but the operation could take a while depending on the size of your collection, and no progress indicator is available.

The application’s interface is simple but well thought-out, displaying a list of all your series and viewing progress in the left hand panel while series and season posters downloaded from the web are shown on the right.

SeriesMarker, when it comes down to it, is a very simple application, but it does the job. If you need a no-nonsense method of keeping track of your TV series, you should definitely try it out.
