Security Camera For Mac

If you share your computer with other people but you want to know who used it and when, Security Camera will be a very useful addition to your software collection.

Security Camera works in the background and automatically snaps a photo (the default resolution is 640X480) using the built in camera each time someone presses a key on the keyboard, drags the mouse around or touches the trackpad.

The application places an icon on the status bar through which you can access the Preferences window. Here you can decide to have Security Camera automatically launched at login, to show a message when Security Camera is launched, to enable the password protection or to synchronize the captured images with your Dropbox account.

The same area allows you to decide the idle time period after which you want to have the camera armed (30 seconds or 1 / 3 / 5 / 15 / 30 minutes - the adjustment is made via a slidebar).

Note that if you decide to password protect the app, you will have to provide the passcode to view, copy or delete the captured photos.

What’s more, if you have the Dropbox synchronizing function enabled and your Mac gets stolen, you will most likely receive a photo with the thief trying to open your computer.
