Managing your tasks via a to-do manager will increase your productivity, but taking the time to include all events, especially that need your attention in the immediate future, can be tedious. Quickly is a minimalist utility that enables you quickly configure a reminder by merely setting the time and a title. The app can work with a single reminder at a time and integrates with the Notification Center.

By default, Quickly comes with its status bar menulet component activated, which means that you get to click on the respective icon to bring up the app’s configuration bar. Note that Quickly also integrates a system wide hotkey for the same task: Option + Space Bar.

Within the Quickly bar, all you have to do is set a period by using hours, minutes, or seconds abbreviations. You can also use specific times of day, in which case the AM or PM abbreviations can be used.

If you need to make small time adjustments, you can rely on the arrow keys, as long as you also hold down the Command key: the timer can go either way with 10 minutes increments.

From the Quickly Preferences, you can choose to activate the app’s dark mode and allow setting times of day without using suffixes. You get to specify how often should the alert be repeated when inactive and the sound effect that should be employed.

You get to navigate to the Notification Center customization panel in the System Preferences, and personalize the alerts displayed by Quickly: you can switch between alerts and banners, toggle the sound effects, and so on.

Bottom line, Quickly allows you to set up timers and receive alerts for tasks that don’t necessarily need to be included in your to-do manager.

The Quickly configuration procedure is quite straightforward, and you get to use simple abbreviations, while the Notification Center handles the alerts.
