For users who need to use a large collection of text snippets regularly throughout the day, having a snippet manager is the best solution of copying them to the clipboard.

Quick Text Copy is a free and open-source application created for macOS users who want to quickly copy one of multiple text snippets to their Mac's clipboard.

Upon being started, Quick Text Copy adds its own status bar item which displays your text snippet collection in the form of a menu.

To load your snippets within the status bar menu, you have to load the text file containing your snippet collection.

Each line will be displayed as a text snippet ready to be copied with a mouse click, and each empty line represents a separator.

Quick Text Copy's status item gives you the options of rapidly loading, refreshing or clearing the snippet collection.

If your text snippets are quite large, Quick Text Copy's menu will be as wide as your Mac's screen at times, but there is a simple solution for this.

The app enables you to create specially crafted snippet collection files, by giving each large snip a custom title. This way, the app's snippet menu will only display the title, thus keeping its main window size as small as possible.

Custom snippet files containing text fragment titles have to named using a .properties extension, and the titles and text snips to be loaded have to be separated using an "=" character.

During the testing period, Quick Text Copy worked as advertised, and it allowed us to load text excerpts rapidly, and it never needed more than 10% of a CPU core and 20 MB of RAM.

Taking everything into consideration, if you don't want to use a full-fledged text snippet manager, it is a simple-to-use and speedy tool to quickly load a text excerpt into your Mac's clipboard with a simple mouse click.
