Transferring content from your iOS device to your Mac and vice versa usually implies working with the iTunes application and its synchronization system, which is not always straightforward.
PhoneBrowse tries to make everything more user-friendly by granting direct access to the user system files on the mobile device, to the backup system, or to information associated with default apps, such as Contacts, Notes, Calendar, or Safari (only for the bookmarks).
Upon launch, PhoneBrowse will start scanning for iOS devices linked to your Mac via USB and automatically connects to them. The utility is able to work with iPhone, iPad, and iPad devices, and features support for popular media types, such as MP4, MOV, MP3, M4A, PNG, JPG, EPUB, PDF, and more.
You can see a complete list of devices and audio or video formats that can be handled by PhoneBrowse on the developer’s website.
However, right off the bat, PhoneBrowse will provide general details about the connected device, such as the model, serial number, iOS version, capacity, used and free space, and how much of the storage is reserved for the system, audio content, installed apps, and other files.
PhoneBrowse offers you the possibility to see the books, camera shots, music, ringtones, or voice memos stored in the user system. What’s more, you get to see the files hosted in the general storage location.
In all cases, you can either import or export content, delete or rename items or quickly create new folders. Most of the same rules apply when dealing with contact, notes, calendar, or bookmark data.
Within the PhoneBrowse user interface, you get to see the user installed applications, and easily import any of the associated resources files. Moreover, PhoneBrowse can also review and export the backed-up content.
To conclude, PhoneBrowse delivers a more streamlined solution for importing or exporting content from your iOS device to your Mac computer and vice-versa.
The PhoneBrowse app allows you to avoid using the iTunes synchronization function and also provides access to the system files.
