Notelife is a user-friendly and comprehensive macOS note management application, capable of keeping your content encrypted and backed up into your iCloud account.
Moreover, the Notelife utility allows you to quickly create new notes using the dedicated and quite prominent orange-colored note addition button at the bottom of the app's main screen.
The notes you make using Notelife can accommodate anything from images, videos, to PDF documents besides the text content.
All the text you add to your notes can be formatted using macOS' built-in formatting controls, which means that you will not have to bother with using Markdown or similar formatting syntax for adding rich text.
Notelife adds its own status bar menu designed to make it incredibly easy to search for and pinpoint any of your previously created notes. The status item is available as soon as you start the app on your Mac and will make it a lot easier to hunt down your earlier notes.
It is also important to mention that while using Notelife you can effortlessly organize your notes by adding them to custom folders, but it also comes with a tagging feature which should enable you to make organizing your notes a walk in the park.
You can mark the notes you need to find in an instant as your favorites, for even easier and quicker access to your most important snippets of information.
The Notelife app also features support for iCloud synchronization, thus making it very simple to encrypt and backup your notes to your iCloud account, as well as have them automatically encrypted on your Mac using AES-256 encryption.
Notelife also comes with multiple window support for viewing as many notes at a time as you need, a handy geotagging feature which should help you place your notes on the map in an instant, and straightforward note exporting as rich text documents for fast and simple sharing with your friends.
As downsides, we missed an attachment browser for browsing our notes attachments while testing the app, the ability to sort the notes by date, and PDF as an extra export format.
All things considered, the Notelife macOS application is a great alternative to Apple's Notes app, with most if not all the tools one would need to manage huge collections of multimedia-based notes using a Mac.
