Notate is a notes and task management solution that enables you to keep data related to various projects stored in the same location, in an organized manner.

You can choose to use the application only locally (there are no backup options), but if you opt for one of the available subscription plans, you will also get access to 20GB of cloud storage which means that you can easily sync the database between devices.

Notate comes with a collection of predefined smart notebooks that allow you to quickly find recent, favorites, unfiled, or deleted notes, but keep in mind that you can also create your own.

If you are willing to organize the entries manually, you can opt for a simple notebook, or you can go for a smart setting that will automatically sort by different criteria the entries that contain a particular keyword. You can refine the results even more by taking into account the entry’s type or the attachment files.

Within the Notate text editor, you get access to fundamental word processing tools, but you can also change the background color or add attachment files. The entry can be shared as an RTF or PDF document, or you can send it directly to the printer.

Most of the entries management rules apply when it comes to managing tasks with the help of the Notate app: you get to organize them by project or smart project and apply different sorting criteria. The drawback is that you cannot hierarchically organize neither the projects nor the tasks.

Notate offers you the option to track the task status, to set start and due dates, to setup reminders, or to specify the priority level. However, you cannot attach files, and you have access to a minimalist text field for storing information.

The Notate application enables you to create comprehensive notes that include both text content and audio, image, or video files among other types of documents.

What's more, you can also use Notate to keep track of upcoming tasks by project, even though you cannot view them in a hierarchical manner.

All this information can be stored locally, or you can get a subscription plan and sync the entries to all your devices. Keep in mind that Notate does not provide any alternative backup options for the database, but you can export individual notes to PDF or RTF documents.
