Replace the native macOS emoji picker with a more responsive app that relies on a rich vocabulary of synonyms to help you find what you need #Emoji Picker #Find Emoji #Type Emoji #Emoji #Picker #Emoticon
The built-in macOS emoji picker can be pretty useful, but it's far from a perfect tool. It's not as snappy as it could be, and if you don't use the right term, it will simply not show you what you're looking for.
Mumu attempts to address these issues and replace the native emoji selector entirely. It comes with an extensive vocabulary of synonyms, making it easier to find what you need, and it launches instantly, with no unnecessary launch animation.
The native tool uses keywords to identify graphics, but they are nowhere near as extensive as what this app integrates. A host of synonyms should make it easy to find any emoji, even if you can't remember its name or even its description.
Essentially, Mumu allows you to use natural language to find emojis. Just type the first word that comes to mind when thinking of a particular image, and the result should include one or more suitable results.
The other main advantage this app offers over the native utility is speed. The default emoji picker opens with an animation that, while brief, can become a hindrance if you use a lot of emojis. With Mumu, when you press ⇧⌘Space, the selection window pops up instantly.
Just like the native tool, this app remembers your favorite options and lists them at the top of the window whenever you open the picker. It's the same feature you get in the standard utility, so nothing new here.
If you were worried about Apple analyzing your emoji picks, Mumu can relieve you of this concern at least. Everything is handled locally, and the only thing the developer will get from you is your feedback.
While it's not exactly a groundbreaking app, Mumu is clearly superior to the native macOS emoji picker. It can be hugely beneficial if you use many emojis daily, and you can just try it out to see if you think it's worth the price.
