MostRecent For Mac

MostRecent is a minimalist launcher tool that delivers quick access to your most frequently used apps. The utility comes with a primary menu where it keeps track of the recently opened services, but will also detect all installed apps.

Upon launching, MostRecent places a small menulet in your status bar that includes a list of all the currently running apps. As a result, to bring forward any of the utilities, just activate the menu and select the respective title from the list.

Note that MostRecent will monitor what app you have used last, and brings it to the top of the list. That means that, in time, the MostRecent primary menu will display all the frequently used apps and make them more easily accessible.

In the MostRecent Preferences window, you get to specify how many apps should be included in the utility’s primary menu, and if the app should be added to the list of tools launched by default at login.

The menu also includes a “More” entry that launches a new list where you get to see all the utilities currently installed on your Mac. Naturally, the list is probably longer than your screen, but you can easily navigate through by using the scroll button.

For your convenience, MostRecent does not keep duplicate entries in its menus: if an app is listed in the primary menu, you will not find it in the More collection. At the same time, MostRecent keeps the More list organized alphabetically.

Bear in mind that the MostRecent menu includes a discovery option that you can use to detect all utilities deployed on your system or to refresh the list once you install a new app.
