We always tell ourselves that we will find time to read that book on our nightstand, learn a new skill or start a healthy exercise regimen, but it is easy to postpone these activities indefinitely.

Momentum is a simple app that aims to help you stay focused and form good habits, by tracking your progress and giving you an additional incentive to avoid procrastination.

Once you have installed the app, you can begin adding all the habits you wish to track. These can either be scheduled for specific days or given weekly targets. If a task needs to be completed at a certain time, you can even set up a reminder and receive a notification.

You can also add notes for each day, in case some important details will be required when performing the activity.

Momentum tracks the current and longest streak for each activity, giving you an extra bit of motivation to stay on track. If something important comes up, you can skip one or more days without breaking your current streak.

While Momentum is a well-designed app, it could use some improvements. For starters, it is not possible to change the order of your habits after they are added. Also, it would be great if you could assign different colors to each activity, as they would be much easier to tell apart at a glance.

Momentum is displayed in your Dock and status bar, and can either be opened as a separate window or a menulet. However, it is not possible to remove the Dock icon entirely.

This is a lightweight app that can increase your productivity and help you stay motivated. It enables you to track your habits and reminds you to perform various activities, without getting in your way.
