MenuWeather+ For Mac

These are trying times, but there is one thing we can be sure of — there will never be a shortage of weather apps. Despite their number, though, finding the right one is a huge hassle, especially if you're only looking for something as simple as adding a temperature reading to your menu bar.

MenuWeather+ is an app that stays very much true to its name. It shows you the local temperature in your menu bar, so you can keep an eye on it at all times, while also providing some additional info when you click the icon.

While the app may not be brimming with features, most people aren't interested in complex weather parameters that don't really help much if you don't happen to be a meteorologist.

In its free edition, MenuWeather+ shows you the current temperature and general weather conditions. You don't have to click anything, unless you want to see what the current temperature 'feels' like based on wind and humidity.

Speaking of wind and humidity, that's all the extra weather information you gain access to with the full version, in addition to more frequent updates. While the app is designed to be as minimalistic as possible, I would have expected something more for the price of a subscription.

The app uses location data to display relevant weather info, but you can also define a custom location if you want to check out the conditions somewhere else. However, there is no option to add multiple locations and switch between them from the menu bar.

If you're looking for a convenient way to track the current outside temperature, MenuWeather+ certainly fits the bill, as you can just use the free version if you aren't interested in other weather parameters and are only planning to monitor one location. You can also subscribe to the full version, but I feel it doesn't really offer enough for the price.
