MapTiler For Mac

MapTiler offers you the possibility to publish maps on your website by creating an overlay for standard maps provided by Yahoo Maps, Microsoft VirtualEarth or Google Maps. At the same time, the results can be visualized in 3D form by the Google Earth application.

The app is also able to work with different types of files, such as ECW, NOAA BSB, JPEG, TIFF or GeoTIFF, Erdas HFA, MrSID and many more.

Simply launch the MapTiler utility and import the map you want to process on top of the main window. On the right side of the app's window you will be able to view and modify the coordinate system and the geographical locations.

Preview the accuracy of your coordinate and then click the "Export" button to start processing the data. Before the actual rendering you can adjust the zooming level, the re-sampling mode and the transparency settings.

The generated folder will contain the map tiles and can be easily uploaded to any type of online hosting, in order to be shared with other people in need of the maps you've rendered using MapTiler.

MapTiler is not hard to use if you know where to find the source map, and you are able to set up the correct geographical location.
