Such a useful resource can come in handy in numerous situations, and LookNote is a lightweight note-taking app that aims to take full advantage of it.

LookNote’s most distinguishing feature is its ability to analyze the text you have written and display information about specific keywords, be it text, images or graphs, in a resizable sidebar.

However, the results are not sorted in any way and it is not possible to copy information from the sidebar.

Sadly, LookNote is not likely to replace the tool you are currently using to take notes, as it lacks a number of important features. You cannot paste text into the document or copy what you have written, and the content can only be exported to HTML files.

Moreover, only a small number of formatting options are available, and there are few fonts and text sizes to choose from.

LookNote has a very simple layout consisting of the two panels used to write notes and view search results. There are no alternative themes available, however, and reducing the size of the application window past a certain point causes some interface elements to overlap.

The toolbar becomes inaccessible and blends into the text if you write more than one page, while the scrollbar is barely visible and difficult to select.

It is worth noting that LookNote is still in the very early stages of development, so the issues mentioned above are likely to be addressed at some point in the future. The app is not particularly useful in its current state, but it is worth keeping an eye out for upcoming releases.
