Language Alchemist For Mac

Language Alchemist is a powerful yet easy-to-use translator and vocabulary trainer for the Mac OS X platform that helps you translate text in multiple languages at once. The application works by letting you enter a sentence and viewing the translations in multiple languages of all words in the sentence.

Language Alchemist comes with a comprehensive multi-lingual dictionary for 26 different languages as well as 400 individual dictionaries. Language Alchemist integrates into most Mac OS X applications, including browsers, to help you quickly find translations to text you encounter at home, work or school.

Thanks to the integration with other apps, Language Alchemist allows you to translate text with just one mouse click. In order to do so, just select the piece of text you want to translate and click on the “translate the selected words” option. Language Alchemist will automatically pop up.

From the main window, you can copy / past a sentence or manually type it, view the list of all words in the sentence (from the left pane) and click on them to get translations in selected languages (from the right pane). If you want Language Alchemist to translate text in other languages (than the default ones), you can change them from the language settings of the application by simply clicking on the ones you prefer.

The supported languages included in the application are: English, Portuguese, Esperanto, Dutch, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, Swedish, Danish and Czech. However, you can purchase additional languages such as Albanian, Swahili, Latin, Afrikaans, Hungarian, Thai, Norwegian, Turkish, Icelandic, Greek, Romanian, Faeroese, Polish or Finnish.

The Lexis Builder is one of the most important features of Language Alchemist. It helps you create your own dictionaries by adding words and their translation in different languages. The steps are as follows: choosing data source, configuring CSV source, defining glossary data, setting general properties, creating the glossary and testing / installation.
