Traditionally, to move content to and from your iOS devices, you need to use the iTunes synchronization function, which does not provide extensive customization options when it comes to the transfer.

IOTransfer is an alternative solution that offers you the possibility to scan for specific types of content and enables you to move files between devices in a more intuitive manner.

To be able to use the IOTransfer application, you need to start by connecting the iOS device you want to work with to your Mac via USB. The app will automatically recognize the device’s type, the version of the installed operating system, and the battery status.

For you convenience, IOTransfer comes with buttons that enable you to quickly send the content to your Mac or to another device (if there is an additional device running on iOS connected to the computer). Note that the “Content to iTunes” function is not yet implemented.

IOTransfer will keep the media files hosted on the iOS device organized by type: music, videos, photos, apps, podcasts, books, or voice memos. The app will place a counter next to each section, but you must select the entry to view the included files.

Note that IOTransfer assigns a checkbox next to each file, so you can quickly decide which entries you want to export or delete. Worth mentioning is that IOTransfer also enables you to transfer music, videos, book, podcasts, or photos from your Mac to the iOS device.
