Remove EXIF information from JPEG image files to ensure no unwanted data can be extracted from them, with an app that can process multiple pictures at once #Remove Exif #Exif remover #Batch remove #Remove #Remover #Exif
Photos captured with a digital camera or smartphone contain detailed information about the device used, camera settings, location, and even the author. If you’re planning on sharing these pictures with others, or even posting them somewhere, you might want to remove this info to be on the safe side.
One of the apps you can use for this purpose is IMT Exif Remover. It’s one of the simpler tools that can get the job done, relying on a minimalistic interface and offering very limited customization options.
While this data may seem harmless to some, it has the potential to be dangerous even if you’re not too concerned about privacy. Location info from a photo taken in your home could allow someone to find out where you live, which is very bad news nowadays.
IMT Exif Remover works by removing all data normally stored in a JPG file’s Exif tag. This includes the date and time the photo was taken, the camera’s characteristics, image properties, the location, and various other details.
The app allows you to load multiple images via drag and drop, or just import an entire folder full of images. They can then be processed in quick succession and exported to another location. If you need to go through an entire album full of photos, it should be pretty simple.
You can also switch to a Titles view that lets you preview thumbnails, and the app can automatically fix images’ orientation in the process of removing Exif data.
However, while you can change your photos’ JPEG compression settings, there is no option to just use the quality settings from the original image.
IMT Exif Remover does its job well enough, but the fact that it doesn’t give you the option to avoid changing JPEG image quality will make it unsuitable for many use cases. If you just want to remove Exif data and leave photos otherwise untouched, it’s going to be frustrating to use.
